Our FSO Leaders spent some time working with the Academic Support Teams training them on a variety of ways they can provide support to individual classroom teachers. One of the strengths of our schools is the high level of parental involvement. The additional support and help with our teachers makes a significant difference in the quality of education at American Prep. Thank you FSO and our AST Leaders!
It was an exciting week, as our golf team qualified for the state tournament and traveled to Cedar City. It was a great privilege to help coach the team this year along with Darci Olson and Darius Beard. Qualifying for state in our first year of competition was quite the accomplishment. Congratulations Seamus McVicar, Nathan Stone, Skyler Strubin, Nick Wanner, Josh Christiansen,Gabe Maxfield and Jamison Proctor.
Ms. Larsen’s 6th grade class created suspended structures capable of holding a load measured with pennies. The challenge was to hold a load of 100-200 pennies for 30 seconds. There were 7 groups and 4 successfully completed the challenge. It was a great science and team building project for our students!
During lunchtime today some of our students had the opportunity to go watch a demonstration from the sheep dog trainers that use the field in front of our school for their training A big thank you to Deb, Donna and Lou for spending some time with our students, here with Mrs. Stanford’s 2nd grade class.
Our annual Fall Festival is coming up this Friday and fortunately, Marianne Porter from our FSO was in the lobby this morning selling tickets, so I was able to get wristbands and meal vouchers for my students. Someone from our FSO will be in the lobby every morning this week selling tickets and wristbands. Don’t wait until Friday, get your wristbands now!
