One of our more popular after school clubs, the Lego Club always manages to create excitement as well as tap into our students creative side. THANK YOU Mr. Phinney for providing this wonderful opportunity for our students.
Super Woman and Wonder Woman
Our students were visited by Super Woman and Wonder Woman at today’s assembly. These two superheroes were able to recognize all of our students registering for the Fun Run and raising money for our school in Zambia. It was great to feel their power and excitement about our project. Who knows they might even show up for the 5K!
Heroes for Zambia
Our students are excited about our “Heroes for Zambia” fundraising week. Sumaiya and Drake are showing the incentives that they will be raising money for during the campaign. All of this fundraising will help “Change the World for the Better”! Get registered for the fundraising campaign. www.iruninutah.com/apa

Guest Conductor
Our students had the great opportunity to work with Dr. Cheung Chau, the Director of Orchestral Studies at Utah Valley University, Music Director of Sinfonietta Polonia in Poznań, Poland and Music Director of the Utah Valley Youth Symphony in Orem, Utah. Sharing his time, experience and talents was a wonderful way for our students to connect with professionals working at the highest levels of musical performance and studies. Thank you Dr. Chau!

Comcast Cares Day
Our West Valley 1 school has a great opportunity to participate in “Comcast Cares Day” on Saturday, April 21st. They are inviting any of our American Prep students and families to participate in this exciting event. We have flyers at the front office that you can pick up and fill out to get registered for the event. The more of our families that participate, the better chance our other schools will have to participate in future events. Come help change one of our schools for the better.

Reading Challenge!
Last month, our 6th grade students participated in a “Reading Challenge” from our curriculum department. Our P.E. Teacher Mr. Andersen, joined them for the challenge, reading all the books and discussing them with our students. Due to the popularity of the challenge, our curriculum department of Lori Stephenson and Pam Gibbons, have brought in some sports themed books for this new challenge that will start later this week. If anyone has some extra time and would like to help them prepare the books, please come in anytime during the day and check in with curriculum.
