Happy 204th Anniversary to our National Anthem!
It was on the evening of September 13th that Francis Scott Key began to write the beautiful words to “The Star-Spangled Banner”. He watched through the night from the deck of a warship as Ft. McHenry was being bombarded by the British. “In the dawn’s early light” he looked through the smoke and debris to see that “our flag was still there”. Those words have always inspired me and filled me with deep gratitude and love for this song, bringing tears to my eyes every time I sing it.
