August Builders Theme – Be a Builder
We have been very busy updating and remodeling our front office areas this summer. Our academic teams will have a larger office space and our main office will be moving across the lobby. This remodel also will include a main reception and check in area. In addition to all of the regular maintenance of our building, we are also updating cabinetry and shelving in some classrooms to make them more efficient. All of these projects are keeping our OPS team very busy and we want to thank them for all of their efforts to make these improvements to our school.
Mrs. Carman testing out our new reception desk!
Thanks Mr. Miner and Mr. Hurlbutt for making this happen.

Pick Up Tags Available – August 14th
Pick up times and curbs have been assigned to all families. We worked hard to keep last year’s assignments the same as much as possible but, in trying to balance the volume of cars on campus, we have made some adjustments. We have a new feature in Skyward so parents will know their pick up assignments. Log in to your account and click on the BUSING tab. Families can fill out a form to request a different time and curb if needed. This form can be found in Skyward.
Pick-up tags will be available at the Meet and Greet in your student’s classroom.
From the Administrative Office
Skyward – New Software for Teachers and Families
We are excited to be transitioning to a new Student Information System called Skyward. This information system will help automate our registration, enrollment and other administrative tasks for our school. This system will have a parent portal that will allow families to more easily access their student records and update information as it changes. We are sending all families a link to register and create a password for your parent account. All parents and legal guardians will have the opportunity to create an account and unique password.
You will also be receiving emails from a new parent messaging system asking you to set up your parent account. This parent messaging system will come from a no-reply address (noreply@apamail.org) and at the bottom will list American Preparatory Academy as the School District along with our web-site. Please check your Spam folder for this email and allow future messages from this address.
Drop-Off and Pick-up
Construction continues on Lone Peak Parkway and will be affecting our drop off and pick up. Please always come in from the north and turn right into our andout of our driveway during peak traffic times:
Morning Drop Off 7:30 am – 8:05 am
Monday, Tuesday, Friday 3:00 pm – 4:15 pm
Wednesday, Thursday 2:00 pm – 3:15 pm
Busing
We will continue to run our bus program with increased sanitizing measures. Students will wear masks at all times, and follow a seating chart. Our buses are currently at capacity, but with so many changes and the option to learn Off Campus, this is changing all the time. Please register for the waiting list if you are interested. https://www.americanprep.org/bus-program/
COVID-19 Status Update
The state of Utah has issued guidance for our schools and families. Check out the document here: Utah COVID School Manual. We will continue to follow the direction provided by the state, including increased cleaning and sanitizing efforts, mask wearing by students and elimination of large gatherings (assemblies).
Off Campus Program
For all of those who have chosen the Off Campus option this year, our team of teachers and instructors are in training this week! You can expect to hear directly from the Off Campus director shortly. Thank you for your patience!
2020-2021 Calendar

We will follow our published calendar and any adjustments or changes will be communicated directly to parents. Our most updated calendar is located on the website. Please scroll down to the bottom to find our narrative calendar.

From the Academic Office
Teacher Summer Book Club
With the open schedules that Summer brings, comes more time for reading! Some of our staff used this opportunity to form their own Book Club. In addition to reading and discussing the book The Wild Card, they also managed to have some fun with oversized UNO cards.
