Draper 3: Cases – 0, Quarantined – 0
West Valley 1: Cases – 2, Quarantined – 21

Salem: Cases – 1, Quarantined – 28
ELC: Cases – 0, Quarantined – 0
We received very good news today from the Utah Department of Health!
In the future, if a student is exposed at school, and was wearing a mask, and needs to quarantine, the student may be tested on day 7 of the quarantine and if their test is negative they may return to school! This has the potential to cut down quarantine times by half! This change was made after the health department looked at a lot of data that shows that by day 7 a great percentage of those who eventually get COVID from an exposure have the virus and it will show on a test. So, conversely, if a test is given on day 7 and is negative the person is not a carrier.
Have a wonderful fall break!

D2 ON CAMPUS – Wearing Masks, Pre-Order Opportunity, Lunch Volunteers
Dear Draper 2 Parents,
Wearing Masks
We are so grateful to have received free masks from French Toast that we have given to our students. This has allowed us to have masks available for those who forgot, lost, or soiled their mask. Unfortunately, this supply of free masks is almost gone!
Please remember to send your student to school with a clean mask EVERY day! We recommend having an extra mask stored in their backpack in case theirs gets broken, dirty, or lost.
Going forward, any students who don’t have a mask will be required to call home and you will need to bring them a mask before they can attend school.
Pre-Order Your Mask Today!
Earlier this year our Spirit Wear distributor had masks for sale, and they sold out quickly! Those who purchased these masks reported they were AWESOME! There are two sizes – one for adults and one for children. They have adjustable ear straps, making them fit snugly and not fall down. They have a nose insert that helps prevent glasses from fogging, and the material is very breathable.
We have worked with this supplier to design a mask for our campus, and we are making it available for pre-order at cost ($7.00). Pre-orders will be collected for one week, and then it takes 2-3 weeks for masks to be produced and delivered. We expect to have them by the time students return from fall break. See attached flyer for details, and follow this link to order:

Parents,
Uniform Update
We will be transitioning back to our regular uniform standards this Tuesday, Sept. 8th. We know that the heat wave at the beginning of the year was a bit more tolerable because of the adjustments to our uniforms. Now that we are through that heat wave and the temperatures are getting cooler please have your students in regular uniforms when returning from the holiday weekend.
School Messenger
We are also getting ready to start using a new Parent Messaging system and will be sending out an email and phone call notifying parents of an option to start receiving text messages from this system. Please be looking and listening to this notification so that you can opt-in to receive texts and information directly to your cell phone.
After School Clubs
Although we have currently suspended our after school activities and clubs here at the school, there are some online opportunities for students to participate in extracurricular activities. The flyers for these options are listed on our website in the newsletter tab. Here are those links:

Email 8.25.20
Dear Draper 2 Parents,
Thanks to some amazing parents, we have discovered that our emails are not being received consistently. We have been trying to send information specific to Off Campus or On Campus families, but in doing so many of you have not received the right emails.
As we go forward, we are going to email all our families, and rely on you to delete the messages that don’t apply to you. The subject line will always have ALL FAMILIES, OFF CAMPUS, or ON CAMPUS, to help you easily filter the messages.
We will also post all emails on our website here:
https://draper2.americanprep.org/category/emails/
If you are wondering what you missed, please go back and review the communication so far.
ON CAMPUS FAMILIES
Please remember to complete the health screening every day! Skyward is the easiest tool to do this, but you can also sign the health form attached to your student’s learning plan.
Newsletter 8.24.20
Hello Draper 2 Families,
We are sending this important update to all families – those who are participating in the Off Campus program, please disregard.
Parent Orientation
We have rescheduled this to happen this Thursday, August 27th, and it will be virtual (online). We will send an email with a link at that time.
Governor’s Orders Regarding Masks
The Governor has issued additional orders about wearing face masks. As used in this order a “face mask” means a face covering that:
- covers the nose and mouth without openings that can be seen through;
- is made of synthetic or natural fabrics;
- secures under the chin;
- fits snugly against the nose and sides of the face; and
- does not have an exhalation valve or vent.
Starting tomorrow, all staff and students need to wear masks that meet these requirements. Please refer to the documents here: Mask Order Highlights Mask Order FAQ State Public Health Order

Thank you!
