OCTOBER BUILDERS THEME – I AM A BUILDER WHEN I DEMONSTRATE INTEGRITY

This month, we are focusing on the builder theme of integrity.  Integrity includes honesty—but goes deeper.  When you have integrity, you do the right thing—even when no one is watching. When you have integrity, your outward actions are always consistent with your inward convictions.  When you have integrity, you stand up for what is right and speak out when there is injustice.  If you see a great example of integrity this month—please share it!  Let’s celebrate this amazing builder trait!

DROP OFF – WALKING STUDENTS IN

Please remember to drop your students at the curb. Students walking in the parking lot must be escorted by an adult. Otherwise, it is very hard for cars to see them. Students should not walk back out to cars in the parking lot to retrieve forgotten items. Please take the items to the students on the curb. Thank you for keeping our students safe!

Dear APA Parents,

Our 5th Annual Boutique fundraiser was a success. Thank you so much to the following parents who graciously donated pumpkins and/or their time:

Cindy Badger, Nicole Harman, Reyna Reyes, Sandra Covert, Maria Reyes, Steph Pettingill, Carolina Ramos, Juan Orduna, Ady Ferrari, Juan Martinez, Pete Stewart, Mandy Brown, Tailor Hamlin, Rosa Ramos, Tzitlali Soto, Monica Fowles, Jason Fowles, Karen Ellsworth, Jason Ellsworth, Andreina Marcano, Caitlin Crandall, Jill Smith, Evelin Gonzalez, Delmi Orduna, Erica Jooa, and Chantel Miner.

And a big thank you also goes to APA’s operations and IT teams (in particular Colby Sims who came in on Saturday), as well as to Kevin McVicar who put in a full day on Saturday helping from opening time to closing time. I sincerely apologize if I missed anyone. We can’t run successful events without our wonderful volunteers. You are appreciated more than you know!

Thank you, also, to Harmon’s in The District for donating pumpkins for the kids to decorate and to YESCO Outdoor Media for donating electronic billboard advertising for the event. Our community partners are amazing!

I am so impressed with our talented and creative student entrepreneurs who ran booths on Saturday. So many of our students spent hours (if not days, weeks, and months) preparing for the event, set sales goals, and had great success on Saturday. We have incredible students!

We had a great turnout for the kids costume parade. To see photos, go to

And finally, thank you to everyone who came out and supported the fundraiser and APA’s Builders Club!
