We are very excited and energized for our initial teacher training for the 2017-2018 school year. Our administrative and office staff are welcoming all the teachers, instructors and support staff that will be part of our team this year. Since the opening of our high school has been delayed, we created a motto for our staff, “Flexibility at its best!” Having a positive outlook and coming together to meet the challenge of the situation is how we roll at American Prep. Thank you in advance for all your patience and understanding as we work together to share space until our new building is ready.
Our Procurement and Operations Team, Trevor, Paige, Julie and Connor are busy clearing out a warehouse space to make room for some temporary classrooms. They will be very busy over the next couple of weeks getting ready for our new school year. All their hard work in the summer heat is helping us make the best out of our current classroom situation. Thank you!
While getting ready for the new school year, Bill Hurlbutt from our operations team had the unfortunate task today of cleaning the discarded gum from our sidewalks. It is a job that we would rather not assign to him or anyone at the school, but when gum is chewed and casually discarded, then it creates a mess. Please, Please do not chew gum at the school and always discard any gum in a trash can. Bill and the rest of our school community thank you in advance for your cooperation.
There has been lots of activity on our property this summer including the work that will change up the entrance to our driveway. Crews will be working to reconfigure the entrance to help make it a smoother transition for vehicles. There will also be new curbing and traffic flow designs will also be part of this work that was approved and required as part of our site plan for the high school.
It takes a lot of effort and many hours to order, sort, barcode and organize all the curriculum for our schools. Pam Gibbons, our Draper 2 and 3 Curriculum Manager and Lori Stephenson our District Curriculum Director have been working hard to organize everything, but they are still surrounded by piles of books. There is always a large list of needs in our curriculum room and they would welcome any parent help. Please contact Pam Gibbons directly at email@example.com
We are excited to be adding some new staff for the 2017-2018 school year. Some of this staff have 15 + years of experience in our schools and can help you with any information or concerns that you may have now or during the year. From left to right, Jacquie Chappell, Cathie Adamson, Jeanette Ford, Cindy DeVore and Pam Hammond.
