Our 2nd grade students had the opportunity to build their own simple machines this past week. It is wonderful to see how they apply the concepts learned with their own personal creativity. Here Aiden Cox shows off his Monster Truck Pulley system.

Earth Day- B’Earth Day
Jude Heiner, one of our 5th grade students is celebrating his B’earth day today. Each year he comes up with a new idea on how to help our planet. This year, he came up with treats for his class that include some honey, a globe that has flower seeds and some information about bees and how important they are for our planet and our food supply. Thank you Jude for taking such an active interest in our planet and providing your classmates with great information and a small way to make a big difference.

Testing Super Heroes
Mrs. Diamond’s class are excited about testing and have transformed themselves into “Testing Super Heroes”. Today, they went to offer their support to the 5th grade classes that have actually started their testing this week. Their visit exemplifies the “builder” spirit that we emphasize here at American Prep.
Read-A-Thon Fundraiser
A HUGE Shout-out to all the families that donated money for our classroom libraries. We raised over $7,000 and have orders for more than 200 books being delivered to our school. These donations will help us increase the amount of books and choices for our students! A special shout out to Ms. Bergman’s AMAZING class that raised the most money of any classroom.
Cheerleader Spirit!
Camp Diamond
As our Read-A-Thon winds up this week, Mrs. Diamond’s 2nd grade class celebrated by “reading under the stars” in a classroom camp out. Generating excitement for reading and creating wonderful memories for our students is just one of the amazing things our staff does to make American Prep a great school. Thank you Mrs. Diamond and all of our teachers that helped make our “Read-A-Thon such a success!
Builder of the Year Awards!
It is always an exciting assembly when we celebrate our “Builders of the Year” . Although we have many builders throughout our school and parent community, these shining stars represent “exemplars” of Builder behavior. Recognizing all of their efforts to make our school and community a better place is an important part of our schools. Congratulations and thank you to all of our Builders!
