Last month, our 6th grade students participated in a “Reading Challenge” from our curriculum department. Our P.E. Teacher Mr. Andersen, joined them for the challenge, reading all the books and discussing them with our students. Due to the popularity of the challenge, our curriculum department of Lori Stephenson and Pam Gibbons, have brought in some sports themed books for this new challenge that will start later this week. If anyone has some extra time and would like to help them prepare the books, please come in anytime during the day and check in with curriculum.

Time Change
The recent time change makes our days start an hour earlier. Our school is basking in the different light that accompanies the time change. It was a beautiful sunrise this morning as we started our day. Also check out the banner on the fence and come support our schools this weekend with The Barnes and Noble Bookfair.
Fun Run Planning
Our schools always have lots of activities going on throughout the day. Here, our planning team for our Spring Fun Run is using our front lobby to start working on all of the details started. Even though the Fun Run is not until May 18th, there is still lots of planning that needs to done. As you can see, our planning committee is small. We could use some more help on the planning committee, please contact Whitney Haselden whaseldon@haselden, or Jill Welch kjillwelch@gmail.com, to get involved.

MId-Winter Break
One of the great parts of our school are the week long breaks that are scheduled throughout the year. It gives all of us a chance to rest and recharge. Spending part of the break reading from the stack of books that one collects, is always one of my favorite ways to spend the extra time. Here are some of the books from my stack that were read over this break.
